40-year-old woman rescued after breaking ankle climbing Lough Salt Mountain

The coastguard helicopter airlifted a woman to Letterkenny General Hospital yesterday afternoon after she fell and injured herself while climbing on Lough Salt Mountain.
The 40-year-old woman, is believed to have sustained a broken ankle. She was one of a group of seven people on a visit to the county.
The climbing party were close to the summit when the accident happened around 2pm.
Donegal Mountain Rescue were called to assist the woman and they alerted Malin Head Coastguard of the need for a helicopter to airlift the woman to hospital.
