Man remanded on Cork murder charges

A 36-year-old man has been further remanded in custody, in connection with the death of a mother of three, whose body was found at her home in Co. Cork at the weekend.
Darren Murphy of Dan Desmond Villas, Passage West, made his second appearance at Cork Disctrict Court today – this time via videolink.
He is charged with the murder of Olivia Dunlea O’Brien at Pembroke Crescent, Passage West, on February 17th.
A post-mortem revealed she had died as a result of stab wounds.
Mr. Murphy will appear before Cork District Court again on March 7th.
His counsel said he hoped this would give time to prepare a psychiatric report.
