Rents across the country have risen by 1.4% between March and June.
It’s a major slowdown from the record 4.4% increase in the first three months of the year.
The latest Daft.ie report shows rents were 13% higher year-on-year in Galway city, compared to 6.5% higher in Dublin. In Donegal, the average increase was 4.1%, with the typical open-market rent of a three-bedroom house at €1362.
The report also shows the shortage of properties to rent is a growing problem.
On August 1st, there were fewer than 2,400 homes for rent nationwide.
The shortage is leading to a rise in rent prices, with an increase of 7.7% compared to last year.
