Interim Emergency Department at LGH now “fully open”

New_ED_1
The phased opening of the interim Emergency Department at Letterkenny General Hospital has been completed, with GP referrals and walk-in patients from the whole catchment area now being accepted.
Meanwhile, in-patients who had been transferred to Sligo are now being returned to Letterkenny.
The full HSE statement issued this evening reads as follows –

The Emergency Department at Letterkenny Hospital is now accepting all GP referrals from their traditional catchment area.
This stands down the final remaining elements of the diversion arrangements that were effected on the night of the flood on Friday 26 July.
The repatriation of inpatients from Sligo Regional Hospital will continue over the coming days.
Walk in patients are also being accepted to the ED in Letterkenny Hospital from all areas.
We would like to stress that non-emergency patients should continue to contact their GP in the first instance.

Patients can get the latest information on www.hse.ie/letterkenny
