Any pharmacy could cut costs to rival Northern Ireland

The man behind a new chemist which is planning to slash prescription drug prices for Irish customers says anyone could follow their lead.
Healthwave has just opened in the Dundrum suburb of Dublin.
The company is going to price drugs at around the same level as competitors in Northern Ireland.
They will put less of a mark-up on the cost of drugs, and they will also save money by not stocking cosmetics or beauty products.
Healthwave Chief Executive Shane O’Sullivan says the business idea is open to everyone.
“It’s a model that is currently in use in the States, we believe it can work here” he said.
The one thing I would say about existing pharmacies is they do have the cosmetics and beauty angle – and quite a high cost structure” he added.
