Parents of children with Diabetes in Donegal says they were shocked to learn that the HSE North West Service Plan for 2014 contains no funding to develop paediatric diabetes services in northwest.
The information was relayed to over three hundred members of the public and politicians at a weekend meeting.
The meeting also heard demands the HSE appoint a dedicated Paediatric Diabetes clinical Nurse Specialist in Letterkenny General Hospital.
The Donegal Branch of Diabetes Ireland also says the new integrated Clinical Nurse Specialist post will be of no assistance to children.
