Donegal IFA is calling for the cost of water currently paid by farming families to be reduced.
The association says the cost imposed on farmers has been disproportionately high as funding for water infrastructure in Ireland has been completely inadequate over the years.
Donegal IFA Chairperson PJ McMonagle says that with the expansion of the customer paying base, which is to include domestic customers, its only fair farmers see a reduction in water charges they pay:
