Slight increase in number of empty commercial premises in Donegal

There has been an increase in the amount of vacant retail space in county Donegal.
The latest GeoDirectory survey shows that in the 3rd quarter of this year 13.5% of retail space in Donegal was vacant an increase of 0.5% over the same period last year.
The report accessed the commercial vacancy rates in the six biggest towns in Donegal.
It shows that in Ballybofey 32.2%, up 4% on the same period last year, Buncrana slightly down at14.4%, Bundoran up a percent at 10.6%, Donegal Town up a point to 13.3% and Letterkenny relatively static at 20.4%.
The 32.2% figure for Ballybofey makes it the highest vacancy rate in the country.
The national commercial vacancy rate in Q3 2014 is 12.7% an increase on the same period last year of .4%.
