Man Shot with Pellet Gun and Beaten by Gang in his Home in St. Johnston

Investigations are continuing after a man was shot with a pellet gun and beaten in his home in St. Johnston.

A gang of masked men burst into the man’s home in the centre of the village of yesterday evening at around 5pm.

They shot him at close range with what is believed to have been a pellet gun.

The man who is said to be in his forties was also beaten with bats before the gang fled the scene empty-handed.

The man was rushed to Letterkenny General Hospital but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

The area was cordoned off on Saturday and a full technical examination was carried out at the scene.
