High Court rules Quigley property transfer was fraudulent

four courts
A well known Irish dancing teacher, ordered to pay 400 thousand euro to a student he sexually abused, fraudulently transferred property to his wife, the High Court has found.
Michael Quigley gave Alice Quigley the family home at Barnhill Park in Letterkenny and another property in Co Donegal to avoid paying damages to his victim Dana Doherty.
44 year old Ms Doherty was a very successful Irish dancer, who was abused as a child by Michael Quigley, her then teacher.
He was not convicted in criminal proceedings, but in 2011 he was ordered by the High Court to pay her damages of 400 thousand euro.
Dana Doherty is still owed the money as Quigley – now in his seventies – transferred two properties to his wife.
Under an ancient law those transactions have been found to be fraudulent in a High Court ruling today.
The Quigleys have indicated they’ll appeal that decision.
