English helps Ireland to second in New York

Ireland took second place at the Armory Invitational Medley Relay in New York on Saturday Night with Letterkenny’s Mark English running the fastest 800m in the race.
The Donegal Sport Star of the Year ran 1.46.59 for his third leg which moved Ireland into the runners up spot.
The Ireland team which also included Declan Murray, Brian Gregan and Ciaran O’Lionaird finished six seconds behind the American team, who broke the world record with a 9:19.93 run.
Ireland’s time was also under the old world record.
