Shop in Derry ransacked by youths armed with iron bars

PSNI hi resTwo youths armed with iron bars went on a wrecking spree as they tried to rob a shop in Derry last night.
Detectives at Strand Road in Derry have now launched an appeal for information about the attempted robbery of the shop in the Carnhill area.
At around 8pm last night two youths carrying iron bars entered the shop and demanded money from staff.
It’s understood that they didn’t get away with any money, but they did trash the shelves in the shop.
The two youths then split up after the incident, with one heading towards Carnhill to the green area at the rear of the College, while the other went towards Collon Lane towards Slievemore.
