Letterkenny Doctors Surgery is appealing to patients to stop contacting staff through their personal mobile phones or social media accounts.
In a statement, a spokesperson says while they understand it can be more convenient, they can no longer engage in this type of communication.
The practice says the current approach creates record-keeping difficulties, the risk of missed communication when staff are on annual leave, and GDPR and data protection concerns, particularly when dealing with sensitive medical information.
Patients are being asked to use the practice’s official communication channels instead, including reception, the practice telephone system and secure online services available through its website.
