The HSE has spent almost €1.5 million on private ambulances in Co Donegal.
€1.47 million has been spent on operating these vehicles from Letterkenny General Hospital since the start of 2013.
This is the despite the Saolta group establishing a hospital transport service for patients two years ago which was meant to see costs decrease.
