It’s emerged that the closure of the Revenue Commissioners Customer Service desk in Donegal Town is permanent, with calls for the service to be restored immediately.
Deputy Pearse Doherty says it’s a ‘disgraceful’ move which was done without consultation, with most people assuming it was a temporary measure to cover summer holidays.
The walk-in counter service had operated from the Public Services Centre in Donegal Town, and while staff remain in the office, the counter is now closed and there is no public access to them.
Deputy Doherty says this appears to be another element of the drive to get people to do their business online…………
