Plans for a multi-agency task force to investigate human trafficking in the fishing industry has been met with some criticism.
A year-long investigation by the Guardian newspaper has uncovered widespread abuse of migrant workers on Irish fishing trawlers.
Currently, Donegal accounts for over a quarter of the overall fishing industry jobs in the country.
Independent MEP Marion Harkin says Minister Coveney’s approach to the investigation lacks urgency to deal with the situation.
