Elton John wishes ‘rocket man’ luck

Sir Elton John wished astronaut Tim Peake good luck before he set off on a space mission today (15.12.15).
The 68-year-old singer – whose 1972 space single ‘Rocket Man’ reached number two in the UK charts – took to his Twitter account to wish Tim well as he prepared to become the first Brit to join the International Space Station crew.
Elton wrote: “From one Rocket Man to another, good luck @astro_timpeake with your launch and mission! #Principia #spacerocks (sic)”
Several other stars also wished Tim good luck before he set off on his mission from Kazakhstan this morning.
‘Harry Potter’ actor Oliver Phelps – who plays George Weasley in the wizard film franchise – tweeted: “Still can’t quite believe how calm @astro_timpeake and the other astronauts are. I swear one of them is doing a crossword! (sic)”
TV presenters Ant and Dec wrote: “GoodLuckTim”.
Even British Prime Minister David Cameron was watching the TV as Tim headed off for his mission.
He wrote: “It was great to watch Tim Peake blast off on his mission to join the International Space Station.”
The 43-year-old astronaut set off at 11.03GMT and was watched by his wife Rebecca and sons Thomas and Oliver.
