Campbell and Mc Giolla Easbuig withdraw from Independent grouping on DCC

Two Donegal councillors have withdrawn from the Independent Grouping after Cllr John O’Donnell failed to do so.
Cllr John Campbell and Michael Cholm Mac Giolla Easbuig left the group after unsuccessfully moving a motion that Cllr O’Donnell be suspended……..
 
Today’s is the first full meeting of the authority since last month’s RTE Investigates TV programme, in which Cllr John O’Donnell was seen apparently agreeing to help a windfarm company obtain planning permission for a project in the county, in exchange for payment.
It’s a claim he denies.
The council is now debating a motion moved by Cllr Frank Mc Brearty Jnr calling for Cllr O’Donnell to be expelled from all comittees of which he is a member.
Cllr O’Donnell has indicated as far as he is concerned, it’s “business as usual”
