Derry City to retire Mark Farren’s number 18

The football fraternity has being tribute to Mark Farren who passed away on Wednesday.
The 2005 League of Ireland Player of the Year had been battling cancer since the end of 2008.
Derry City have confirmed they will retire the number 18 jersey, the number Mark wore to become Derry’s record top goal scorer with 114 goals.
A book of condolence will be open at the Brandywell from 2.15pm tthis afternoon and there will also be a minute’s applause in the 18th minute during City’s friendly at Ballymena United, on Friday night.
