A Finn Valley councillor says there’s no ambiguity about the HSE plans for St Joseph’s Hospital in Stranorlar, Lifford Hospital and the Community Nursing Unit in Ramelton.
Laast week, questions were raised when it was suggested that a government release mentioning the centralisation of long stay beds to a new unit in Letterkenny may have been mistaken.
However, Cllr Patrick Mc Gowan says behind the scenes discussions over the past week have given him no reason for optimism.
Cllr Mc Gowan is one of the organisers of a public meeting in the Finn Valley Centre tonight to discuss the future of St Josephs Hospital. He says they decided to wait a week to allow for discussions.
However, he says as far as he’s concerned, there’s no remaining doubt about the HSE’s intentions…….
