An application for a wind turbine in Kinnagoe Bay in Inishowen has been refused by Donegal County Council.
It has been refused on the basis that the development is sited in an intrusive area and would consequently damage its scenic qualities.
Independent Election Candidate Cllr Niamh Kennedy had campaigned for the prevention of the turbine to be erected there following the concerns of locals.
