LYIT lose out to Carlow in Cup Semi Final

The Letterkenny Institute of Technology’s dream of reaching the Colleges and Universities Umbro Cup Final came to on end on Tuesday, losing their semi final to IT Carlow A 5-1 in Carlow.
Peter Doherty scored the LYIT’S goal before half time to leave it 2-1 at the break.
Despite a valiant effort to level the tie,  the home side scored against the run of play and then bagged two late goals to reach the final.
Donegal’s Johnny Bonner didn’t play for Carlow due to a foot injury.
The final will be an all  Carlow affair as their B side beat IT Tallaght 3-1 after extra time in the other semi final.
