There have been fresh calls for funding to preserve the iconic ship wreck ‘Bad Eddie’ following months of winter weather which has led to it deteriorating further.
Last year, residents voiced concerns in relation to the health and safety hazard the wreck poses to both tourists and locals who may use the beach, some calling for its removal.
Now it has been claimed the wreck, which featured in Clannad’s ‘In a lifetime’ video in the 1980s is in an even worse state.
Local Councillor Cllr John Seamais O Fearraigh says he has called for funding from various bodies but so far none has been granted:
