President Micheael D. Higgins is in Letterkenny this afternoon to acknowledge the town’s victory in the 2015 National Tidy Towns Competition.
Mr Higgins unveiled a plaque at the Plaza in front of An Grianan Theatre at a ceremony which drew a large crowd to the area.
President Higgins is also carrying out a number of other engagements.
To mark the visit, President Higgins was presented with a copy of “Where The Winding River Flows”, a book written by local author and historian Kieran Kelly.
He’s drawing comparisons between President Higgins’s visit, and that of President Erskine Childers over 40 years ago………
