Masked youths are continuing to build an extensive bonfire on the Lecky road in the Bogside area of Derry City.
The bonfire which is believed to be over 20 ft in height is blocking part of the road and police are advising motorists to use alternative routes.
Bonfires are traditionally erected on the 15th August in some nationalist areas of the city to mark The Ancient Order of Hibernians.
However, in recent times efforts have been made to replace the bonfires with family events.
