Dundalk manager Stephen Kenny has praised his side despite their exit from the competition last night.
They missed-out on becoming the first League of Ireland side to reach the group stages of the Champions League.
The Lilywhites conceded a late equaliser against 10-man Legia Warsaw as the Polish side claimed a 3-1 aggregate win.
Robbie Benson’s spectacular goal in the first-half had given Dundalk a chance of over-turning their 2-0 first-leg loss at the Aviva Stadium.
But Legia recovered from being reduced to 10-men in the 67th minute to score an injury time equaliser as it finished 1-all on the night.
Kenny says his team worked hard.
