The secret London venue for Dizzee Rascal’s Boy In Da Corner show is revealed as tickets go on sale

dizzee-rascalGrime star Dizzee Rascal is bringing his seminal, Mercury Prize-winning debut album Boy In Da Corner to London as part of his Red Bull Music Academy UK Tour this October.
Close to where Dizzee grew up in Bow, the previously secret venue has now been revealed as the Copper Box Arena – located in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in east London.
A lucky few got the chance to see him play the album in New York back in May as part of the RBMA Festival.
Ahead of the London show, Red Bull Music Academy has created a mini-documentary looking back at Boy In Da Corner and what the album really meant to so many that fell in love with the genre.
It features fans, artists and some of the scene’s key commentators. The film charts the influence the album had on music culture in the UK at the time and to this day, with appearances from DJ Semtex, Logan Sama, i-D’s Hattie Collins, Scrufizzer and Beats 1′s Julie Adenuga.
In an interview for Red Bull, Dizzee said: “It’s amazing that a lot of people still regard me or what I’ve done as the benchmark.
“I know that I’ve influenced a whole sound and the way people spit, even if a lot of kids don’t know because they’re too young. It’s always good when I hear people saying my old bars in their songs – it’s a mark of respect.”
