There were 30 people without beds at Letterkenny University Hospital this morning, six of them on Emergency Department trolleys and 24 in overflow areas on the wards.
That was the joint third highest figure in the country, 11 behind Limerick and one behind Gaway.
Yesterday, the INMO reported and initial figure of 25 people waiting for beds, but the union says as the day went on, that figure rose to 46.
Nationally, the figure has dropped to 395, down by more than 200, since Tuesday’s peak of 612.
A meeting of the Emergency Department taskforce is currently underway to discuss the problem.
