Declan Bonner- Score not a fair reflection of performance

Donegal are out of the Dr McKenna Cup after a 2-14 to 1-06 defeat to Cavan today in Ballybofey; a scoreline which did not reflect the teams effort according to manager Declan Bonner.
Bonner’s men started the game slower than their opponents but started to crawl back with points coming from Ciaran Gibbons and Jason McGee while Ethan O’Donnell fired home a goal.
There were worries when Ciaran Gillespie was subbed off after an injury but overall confidence can be found with the emergence of some new faces like Milford’s Darragh Black.
It looked as though Donegal could have come back from behind with just two points separating the teams, but a Rory Dunne goal on 50 minutes finished the game off.
Tom Comack spoke to Declan Bonner after the game who was optimistic going forward…
