Donegal Fire Service launch recruitment drive targeted at women

The Donegal Fire Service has launched a recruitment drive, targeting women.
The service is making a concerted effort to encourage women into vacant part time positions.
There are currently no women working in the Donegal department and they’re highlighting the importance of having more women employed in the service.
The service is advertising for part time retained fire fighters for their stations in Buncrana, Carndonagh, Stranorlar, Dungloe and Falcarragh.
Dermot Brady, Senior Assistant Chief Fire Officer with the Donegal Fire Service says “At the moment Donegal Fire Service does not have any female staff and I think we need to make a concerted effort to highlight the importance of having more women employed in the fire service”.
He says the fire service is an excellent choice for women who want to make an important contribution to their communities.
