Following the amber weather warning issued by the MET Office earlier today relating to the anticipated storm that is projected for tomorrow, Derry City and Strabane District Council has this afternoon triggered its Integrated Emergency Preparedness Response.
The Council is to take part in a multi-agency meeting later today to review the possible implications of the storm and to work proactively with the various statutory agencies to provide the necessary advice, reassurance and support to the public.
Information and advice for the public on how to prepare for the strong winds that are predicted, as well as useful contact numbers in the event of a power cut and traffic and travel advice, is available on the NI Direct website at www.nidirect.gov.uk/news
