Parts of Donegal are already experiencing strong winds as Ophelia makes her way to the county.
Councillor Niamh Kennedy, says Killybegs has seen gusts carrying debris and instances of high tides earlier this afternoon.
She is advising people to adhere to the warnings that have been issued by the local authorities:
