Calls for extension to Leap Card Scheme to include Donegal services

There are calls for the Leap Card Scheme to be extended to include all passenger and commuter services in Donegal.
Since its introduction in 2011, the scheme has been extended to include not only the greater Dublin area but also public transport services in Galway, Cork, Limerick and Waterford.
Donegal Deputy Pearse Doherty has reitereated his call for the Leap Card Scheme to be extended to include all passenger and commuter bus services in Donegal.
The scheme enables passengers to avail of up to 20% off fares when paying for journeys on a number of public transport routes either by rail or bus.
Deputy Doherty says he believes rural commuters should be able to avail of these cheaper fares which are available when purchasing ticktes on Bus Eireann and on other public operators in major cities.
He says it once again shows the complete lack of regard the Government has for the people of Donegal.
