There are calls on companies, that open public roads to carry out work, to ensure they are repaired as soon as possible.
Councillor Michael McBride used the example of damage casued to a road leading to Lough Keel following pipe replacement works by Irish Water.
He says that all to often, public roads are left in a bad state for too long after the work is finished:
