It’s emerged that residents in a housing estate near Letterkenny have had to keep their windows shut due to a foul smell coming from a nearby Sewerage Treatment Plant.
Problems with the treatment plant at Errigal View have been reoccurring for a number of years and is not operating at present.
Donegal County Council is to make an application for financial assistance to address various deficiencies and in the interim the Environment Section is to empty the sump associated with the foul pump station.
