Donegal County Council is to publish proposals to improve traffic flow at Burtonport Harbour.
The plan, which also includes proposals to help local businesses, will be presented at a special public consultation event tonight.
In a statement, Donegal County Council says as well as being a fishing port, Burtonport Harbour also serves as the arrival/departure point for ferry services to and from Arranmore Island.
As such, it attracts significant pedestrian and motor traffic, and the council has developed an outline proposal to address the current traffic management issues arising at the harbour.
Officials say the proposal would also provide an opportunity for new facilities to be developed to support local industry and businesses.
The project will include car-parking options, property demolition, pedestrian and cycle facilities, ferry facilities and business opportunities.
A public consultation event to view and comment on the outline plans for the project will take place tonight between 6pm and 8pm at O’Donnell’s Bar in Burtonport.
