The cost of rent around the country is now 30 percent higher than it was at the peak of the Celtic Tiger.
A new report from Daft.ie shows that the average monthly rent in the third quarter of this year is now over 1 thousand 3 hundred euro.
That’s an 11 percent increase this year alone and is over 3 hundred euro higher than the previous peak in 2008.
In Donegal however, rents were on average 6.1% higher in the third quarter of 2018 than a year previously.
The average advertised rent in the county is now €628, up 29% from its lowest point.
