John Downey granted leave to appeal extradition decision

A Donegal man has been granted leave to appeal a decision to extradite him to the North.
67 year old John Downey is wanted over the murders of two British soldiers in 1972.
The soldiers from the Ulster Defence Regiment died when an IRA car bomb exploded in Enniskillen.
Mr Downey’s trial for the IRA’s Hyde Park bombing in London collapsed five years ago.
