Two men have been charged in the US with criminally negligent homicide in the death of a 19 year old Donegal man in Clifton Park in 2017.
According to US media reports, authorities in Clifton Park say the victim was left outside his home while highly intoxicated and died.
21 year old Samuel Heroux, of Cohoes, and Isaiah DePiazza aged 19, of Foxwoods Drive, Clifton Park were arrested on Friday last in connection to the death of 19 year old Liam McGlinchey who was found dead outside his home on August 25th 2017.
An investigation revealed that McGlinchey had been out the previous night with friends, including the two accused.
After the Donegal man became highly intoxicated, had difficulty walking and began falling, his friends decided to return him home.
He was left on a grassy area outside the house, where he subsequently died.
The 19 year old had immigrated from Ireland within the previous year.
McGlinchey’s mother, Helen Savastio, who resides in Ireland told the Daily Gazette that although toxicology reports revealed her son’s alcohol level to be extremely high, had he gotten help he would have had a chance to survive.
The pair have been sent to Saratoga County Jail pending a bail application hearing this week.
