A cautious welcome has been given to an increase in grant aid as part of the multi annual rural water programme.
As of May 1st, septic tank grants have been increased from 2,500 euro to 5,000 however homeowners had to be registered by February 2013 to be eligible.
Cllr Paul Canning says there’s a vast amount of septic tanks which will go uninspected as a result of the regulations.
