There are calls for a co-ordinated gorse fire response plan in the event of further outbreaks in Donegal this week.
Last month a vast amount of land was damaged as a result of gorse fire in West Donegal with the Government coming in for criticism over a delay in the Air Corps helicopter being mobilised to assist in the operation.
It’s thought that better protocols could be put in place to ensure a faster response and more coordinated approach.
