Donegal County Council’s housing maintenance policy has been described as a “firefighting exercise” at the moment, because the authority simply does not have enough staff.
Cllr Ciaran Brogan Told Letterkenny Municipal District that 13 million Euro a year is received by the council, in rents, and more needs to be done to ensure the needs of tenants are met and issues are resolved.
The bottom line, he says, is the council needs to be given the resources to recruit more staff:
