Donegal IFA Chair urges Government to match EU 50M fund

 
 

The Donegal IFA Chairman is urging the Government to match a new 50 million euro EU fund to support the country’s beef sector.
The European Commission has agreed the investment to protect the industry ahead of Brexit.
The Irish Farmers Association says beef farmers have suffered “savage price losses” because of Britain’s departure from the EU.
They’re calling on the government to match the funding to bring the total to 100 million.
Donegal IFA Chairman Brendan McLaughlin says a lot farmers in the county are almost out of business as a result of the losses:
