Dundalk Football Club say they strongly condemn the behaviour of a small minority of supporters following Saturday’s EA SPORTS Cup final win over Derry City at the Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium.
There were incidents involving supporters immediately after Saturday night’s cup final in which Dundalk beat Derry on penalties.
The club have banned four supporters from attending Dundalk games in the future.
In an official club statement, Dundalk noted how at a time of celebration for the team and the vast majority of supporters, this small number of troublemakers let the club down with their behaviour.
The club said they do not not condone any spectators invading the playing surface and they are seeking to identify the perpetrators and, in particular, those who subsequently clashed with Derry City supporters on and off the pitch.
