A 21 year old man has been arrested in Derry in connection with the attempted murder of a part time female police officer in Dungiven earlier this year.
The man was arrested last night by detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Terrorism Investigation Unit in connection with the activities of the new IRA.
A viable explosive device was discovered beside the young police staff member’s car on the Ballyquin Road on April 19th.
The man has been taken to Musgrave’s Serious Crime Suite for questioning.
