Call for legislation review as it’s claimed drinks spiked in Derry

The Justice Minister in the North is being urged to carry out a review of legislation as it’s claimed five people had their drinks spiked in Derry.

A mother raised awareness this week after her daughter told her of the alleged incidents which are believed to have happened in a bar in the city over the weekend. She also claims her daughter was spiked in a city centre bar in May of this year.

There is also concern over a new type of spiking, where victims are injected with a substance which renders them unconscious.

Councillor Rachael Ferguson says there are many incidents that go unreported:
