Finn Harps will finally get their new League of Ireland season up and running on Friday night when they travel to take on newly-promoted UCD in Dublin.

There are five games in the top division on Friday night, and then another round of fixtures on Monday with Harps on the road again, this time travelling to Dundalk.

The bad weather put paid to their season opener against Drogheda United last Friday night, and Harps boss Ollie Horgan said that while the postponement was disappointing, the heavy snow last Friday meant there was little anyone could do.

He’s been speaking this week to Diarmaid Doherty
