Record number of patients on trolleys during June

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation say the highest number of patients at Irish hospitals are waiting on trolleys for June since the union started counting the figure in 2006.

There are 608 patients waiting to be admitted, with 98 waiting at University Hospital Limerick and 78 at Cork University Hospital.

The INMO says the HSE need to address the issue as the health service is heading for a “very bleak” autumn and winter.
