Grocery inflation has hit highest level in 14 years

Grocery inflation in Ireland has hit 7.7 per cent – the highest level in 14 years.

That’s according to market researcher Kantar.

Take-home grocery sales fell by over 3 per cent in the 12 weeks leading up to mid-July.

Consumers are attempting to cut costs by turning to generic brands, and reducing the frequency of their shopping.
