Eight weather stations in Ireland recorded their highest temperatures ever in July.

Over the month, there was also the second hottest day on record for the country in the Phoenix Park in Dublin, while rainfall was down compared to other years.

A weather advisory is in place until Monday with high temperatures expected and uncomfortably warm nights.

Meterologist with Met Eireann is Paul Downes – he expects heatwave conditions to officially hit today.
